Whether it’s a couple of weeks or up to 3 months- a lot can happen during this time so keep in touch with your potential new starter, so they are as enthusiastic to start as when they got the job offer. Identify what success means for them in this role and give them a target to work towards. Layout an agenda for first week so they won’t feel so apprehensive. You need the right start up from day one.
